Brother Sister 3(Side, Open), 2007, Watercolor, Claybord mounted on wood, 8x10 inches
Brother Sister 2 (Side, Closed), 2007, Watercolor, Claybord mounted on wood.
These portraits were the gateway into a series of portraits on Claybord. These small portraits are diptychs hung side by side. The orange face is my brother and the opposite, the blue, is myself in the same pose.
This body of work was started in New York during my stay at New York Center for Art and Media Studies (N.Y.C.A.M.S). The portraits were therefore done using a series of photographs my family took in order to document the bruises on his eye from his attack. I then posed myself in the same positions.
